General Description
The white Sonos Beam (Gen 2) is a compact smart soundbar that instantly upgrades audio for TV, movies, gaming, music, and streaming content. Its discreet design, measuring 65.1 cm wide, fits on TV stands or wall mounts, while its matte white finish with a white perforated grille allows it to integrate visually into modern spaces. It connects to the TV via HDMI eARC/ARC and can be used with the included optical adapter on TVs that only feature a digital optical output.
Its acoustic platform incorporates five Class-D digital amplifiers, four full-range elliptical midwoofers, a center tweeter, and three passive radiators. This architecture is designed to reproduce dialogue with greater clarity, detailed stereo music, and balanced bass. The advanced processing of the Beam (Gen 2) creates virtual height channels for an immersive experience with Dolby Atmos, without increasing the size of the soundbar.
In addition to TV audio, the Beam (Gen 2) works as a smart speaker connected via Wi-Fi. It allows for music playback from supported services in the Sonos app, use of AirPlay 2, volume control using the TV remote, and voice commands through Sonos Voice Control, Amazon Alexa, or Google Assistant, depending on regional availability and setup.
