General Description
The Sonos Era 100 Pro Black is a pair of smart speakers designed specifically for professional residential and commercial audio installations. Unlike conventional wireless speakers, each unit combines network connectivity, DSP processing, and internal amplification into a compact enclosure that is powered over Ethernet via PoE+ or PoE. This solution reduces the need for nearby electrical outlets and simplifies cabling by transmitting both data and power through a single network cable.
Each speaker incorporates three Class-D digital amplifiers tuned to its acoustic architecture: one 3.5 x 4.4-inch carbon-loaded polypropylene elliptical woofer and two 0.63-inch silk, edge-driven tweeters. The dual-tweeter array produces a wide 240° horizontal by 140° vertical coverage, while the DSP automatically selects the appropriate equalization depending on whether it is installed vertically, horizontally, or in a downward-facing ceiling orientation.
The Era 100 Pro allows for the creation of permanent zones so that multiple speakers can function as a single audio destination and be controlled collectively from the Sonos app. It offers playback via compatible streaming services, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or wired Ethernet. It also integrates far-field microphones for voice services and Trueplay tuning; the physical rear switch can electrically disconnect the microphones when privacy is required. It is a solid choice for restaurants, bars, retail stores, clinics, wellness studios, offices, gyms, residences, and distributed audio projects that require a clean, reliable, and scalable installation.
