General Description

The Denon AVR-X3800H is a high-performance multichannel AV receiver for home theater, designed for immersive setups and networked audio systems. It features nine channels of discrete amplification at 105 W per channel at 8 ohms, in addition to four independent subwoofer outputs to manage bass with greater precision. Its platform allows for a 9.4 configuration directly from the unit, while pre-amplifier processing of up to 11.4 channels opens the possibility of expanding the system via external amplification.

Compatibility with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, Auro-3D, Dolby Surround, DTS Neural:X, and 360 Reality Audio allows for the playback of soundtracks and immersive music with an enveloping soundstage. To adapt the system to the room's actual acoustics, it integrates Audyssey MultEQ XT32, Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, and LFC. It is also Dirac Live ready; the license for Dirac Live and Dirac Live Bass Control is purchased separately when advanced calibration is required.

In video, its six HDMI inputs support 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz, with three HDMI outputs—two Main and one for Zone 2. It supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, Dynamic HDR, VRR, ALLM, eARC, and upscaling to 8K. Added to this is HEOS Built-in for multiroom streaming, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Roon Tested, high-resolution audio playback, and extensive analog and digital connectivity, including an MM phono input. It is a central solution for advanced home theater rooms, next-generation gaming systems, and residential integration projects.

Ideal for

The Denon AVR-X3800H is ideal for high-end home theater rooms that require a flexible platform for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Auro-3D, and IMAX Enhanced. It is especially recommended for 5.1.4, 7.1.2, or 9.4 setups, as well as for projects looking to take advantage of up to four independent subwoofers and expansion to 11.4 channels with external power stages. It is also suitable for users of next-generation consoles who need 4K/120, VRR, and ALLM, for vinyl enthusiasts thanks to its MM phono input, and for integrated installations that require RS-232, IP control, 12V Trigger, OvrC, or Domotz Pro. HEOS Built-in makes it a solid choice for combining home theater and multiroom music in a single installation.
