General Description
The Denon DHT-S517 is a soundbar with a wireless subwoofer designed to transform TV audio through a 3.1.2 configuration with Dolby Atmos. The system brings together seven drivers in the bar—left, right, center channels, and two up-firing height speakers—along with a front-firing wireless subwoofer. With 150 W of total power, distributed as 50 W for the bar and 100 W for the subwoofer, it offers a compact home theater system that adds bass presence, a dedicated center channel for vocals, and a sense of height for compatible content.
The HDMI eARC/ARC connection allows TV audio to be sent to the bar via a single included cable, in addition to syncing volume control with the TV remote when the TV is compatible. The DHT-S517 also incorporates an HDMI input with 4K UHD pass-through to connect a console, Blu-ray player, or other source directly, as well as a digital optical input and a 3.5 mm auxiliary input. For daily use, it includes Bluetooth 5.0 for music from mobile phones or tablets and Movie, Music, Night, and Pure modes. Denon Dialog Enhancer offers three levels of dialogue reinforcement to improve voice clarity in movies, shows, sports, or video calls, without needing to turn up the overall volume. The bar can be placed on a piece of furniture or wall-mounted using the included mounting points, spacers, and template, while the subwoofer is factory-paired wirelessly to streamline setup.
