General Description
The Sonos Outdoor by Sonance OUTDRWW1 are a pair of surface-mount passive speakers developed and tuned in collaboration between Sonos and Sonance to bring high-quality sound to decks, gardens, pool areas, patios, pergolas, and outdoor commercial spaces. Each speaker integrates a 6.5-inch polypropylene woofer with a rubber surround and a 1-inch ferrofluid-cooled polyurethane dome tweeter. Their 2-way design delivers a wide response and a nominal coverage of 80° horizontal by 90° vertical to provide outdoor zones with clarity and controlled dispersion.
The sealed enclosure features IP66 protection and Mil Spec 810 certification to resist moisture, water splashes or jets, salt spray, extreme temperatures, UV radiation, and dust. This allows them to be used year-round in permanent outdoor installations. The magnetic steel grilles are paintable for easy aesthetic integration, while the included FastMount brackets allow for aiming the speakers during installation; the mounting design offers up to 180° of pivot.
The OUTDRWW1 require an external amplifier and are optimized for use with the Sonos Amp, which enables specific Sonos Optimize settings and limiter protection. With the Sonos Amp, it is possible to power up to three pairs of Sonos passive speakers, depending on the system configuration. Connections are made with gold-plated spring terminals and 16 AWG or heavier speaker wire. The package includes two white speakers, two FastMount brackets, two grilles, and two terminal covers.
